Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Fullerton, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab)
• Schedule: On-call 7 days per 2-week pay period (2 nights/week + 1 weekend every 2 weeks; weekends may exceed every other to meet unit needs)
• Floating: Required to float between like units
• Block scheduling: May be accommodated at manager's discretion
• Start Date: ASAP

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 1.5 years of Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience, with experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Cath Lab RN
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital setting
• Charting system: Meditech
• Free parking available

On-Call Requirements

• On-call 7 days per 2-week pay period (2 nights/week + 1 weekend every 2 weeks)
• Facility may call off once per pay period

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Respirator fit testing (annual requirement for travel starts after 2/5/2024)
• Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Education verification and employment references required
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Completion of required WorkRamp training modules prior to start (including regulatory and specialty-specific modules)

Additional Notes

• Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
• Weekend shifts may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs
• Must comply with float policy acknowledging possible assignment to other nearby facilities
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
• Employment application must include at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs with prior travel contract experience who are ready to work in a fast-paced acute care environment with on-call responsibilities.
