Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
Location: Torrance, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the cardiac catheterization lab, including recovery of cardiac caths, PCIs, PFOs, CTOs, and electrophysiology procedures such as pacemakers, BiV, AICD, and Cryo.
- On-call requirement: 1-2 nights per week
- Weekend requirement: 1 weekend every 4-6 weeks
- No floating required
- Active California RN license required at time of submission
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience of at least 2 years, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Harassment Prevention Training Certificate
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in ICU (Intensive Care Unit), ED (Emergency Department), or PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
Additional Information
- First-time travel nurses are accepted
- Two supervisor/manager references required within one year of start (one can be from a Charge RN)
- Current resume or application covering all cities and states lived/worked in the past 7 years, with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Background checks and verifications required as per standard travel nurse protocols
- Fit mask test required within one year of start (specific mask types mandated)
- Immunizations and health documents required, including Tdap, TB test or chest x-ray, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, drug testing, flu vaccination for the 2025-26 season, and COVID vaccine or declination form
- Various facility-specific documents and trainings must be completed prior to start, including safety, orientation, confidentiality, and attendance policies
Summary
This is a travel contract position for a Cath Lab Registered Nurse in California requiring specialized cardiac cath lab experience and ICU/ER/PACU background. Candidates must hold an active CA RN license and current ACLS and BLS certifications. The role includes on-call and weekend shifts but no floating. First-time travelers are welcome. Comprehensive background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific compliance documents are mandatory.
