Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab

Location: Racine, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)


Job Details

  • Shift: 07:30 AM – 04:00 PM
  • Call: Approximately 10+ days of rotating call with core staff; every 3rd weekend and holidays rotation
  • Travel: May need to float to sites within 40 miles if needed
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
  • Systems: Experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred
  • Prior Travel Experience: Required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Wisconsin
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

  • Health & Immunizations:

    • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive immunity titer (no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
    • Tdap: Valid within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • TB Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
    • Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be completed onsite
    • Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually
  • Background & Verification:

    • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to start
    • Employment verification for past 7 years
    • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
    • Professional references: At least two required prior to first assignment
  • Skills & Competency Testing:

    • Specialty exam in Cath Lab with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
    • Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
    • EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
    • Epic test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address requirements)
    • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
    • Badge photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations
    • Completion of onboarding education attestations and modules prior to clearance

Summary

This is a long-term RN Cath Lab position requiring a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience and prior travel nursing experience. The role includes rotating call responsibilities and potential floating within a 40-mile radius. Candidates must hold current RN licensure, ACLS and BLS certifications, and meet comprehensive health, background, and competency requirements. Experience with EPIC is preferred.
