Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab
Location: Racine, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Job Details
- Shift: 07:30 AM – 04:00 PM
- Call: Approximately 10+ days of rotating call with core staff; every 3rd weekend and holidays rotation
- Travel: May need to float to sites within 40 miles if needed
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
- Systems: Experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred
- Prior Travel Experience: Required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Health & Immunizations:
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive immunity titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Tdap: Valid within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- TB Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be completed onsite
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually
Background & Verification:
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to start
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
- Professional references: At least two required prior to first assignment
Skills & Competency Testing:
- Specialty exam in Cath Lab with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Epic test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
Additional Requirements:
- Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address requirements)
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Badge photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations
- Completion of onboarding education attestations and modules prior to clearance
Summary
This is a long-term RN Cath Lab position requiring a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience and prior travel nursing experience. The role includes rotating call responsibilities and potential floating within a 40-mile radius. Candidates must hold current RN licensure, ACLS and BLS certifications, and meet comprehensive health, background, and competency requirements. Experience with EPIC is preferred.
