Location: Asheville, North Carolina

- Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown)
- Floor: 5th floor, Heart Center
- Number of Beds: 40
- Patient Types:
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Chest Pain (CP)
- Arrhythmia
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Valvular Disease
- Endocarditis
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Post cardiac catheterization/stent
- Post pacemaker/ICD/ablation
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 (stretch staffing 1:5)
- Shift Staffing:
- Day: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 4 PCTs, 1 Unit Secretary
- Night: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 3 PCTs
Required Skills and Experience
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as:
- Nitroglycerine
- Cardizem
- Amiodarone
- Dopamine
- Dobutrex
- Insulin drip
- Heparin
- Bumex/Lasix
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Typical Procedures
- Bedside Cardioversion

Additional Information
- Years of experience required: 2+ years in specialty
- Floating Areas: All MedSurg units, Stepdown units, COVID unit, ER holding
- Dress Code: All white or all navy blue scrubs, or white top with navy blue pants
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Personality Fit: Flexible, positive attitude, great team player, compassionate
