Registered Nurse - OR
Location: Salinas, California
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 12 weeks (approximately)
Job Description
- Provide individualized patient care in the Operating Room according to departmental policies and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, patients/families, and healthcare team members to develop and deliver care plans.
- Perform nursing assessments and document appropriately.
- Manage discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient’s age and developmental needs.
- May work on other nursing units as needed.
- Act as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.
- Participate in departmental goals, inservices, committees, and performance improvement activities.
- Utilize positive communication skills for conflict resolution and teamwork.
- Contribute to cost-effective patient care by monitoring time, equipment, and supplies.
- Comply with safety policies to maintain a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors.
- Demonstrate flexibility with changes in hospital or unit activities.
Specialty Focus
- Heavy emphasis on orthopedic and neurological cases.
- Programs starting in robotics (daVinci) and bariatrics.
- Additional surgical areas include open heart, TAVRs, ophthalmology, gynecology, general surgery, ENT, thoracic, vascular, endovascular, and plastics.
- Scrub skills are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification (American Heart Association standards).
- Minimum of 1 year clinical RN experience preferred in specialty areas.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Experience with Epic electronic health records preferred.
