Registered Nurse (Med/Tele 2N) - Savannah, Georgia

Job Overview

• Unit: Medical/Telemetry (Med/Tele) 2N, Regional Admissions
• New 10-bed unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4, sometimes 1:5
• Charge Nurse on night shift (does not usually take patient assignments)
• House Supervisor on night shift
• Nurse aides available with a ratio of 1:10
• Respiratory therapy equipment includes nasal cannulas, BiPAP, High Flow NC (no ventilators)
• Monitor Techs present to read telemetry strips; RNs must be able to interpret cardiac rhythms
• Shifts allow self-scheduling and block scheduling, with flexibility for staffing needs
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: yes, unless approved time off
• No call or standby requirements
• Rare floating to Neurosurgical PCU with similar nurse-to-patient ratios
• Dress code: Navy scrubs
• Orientation: One day computer skills training; 12-hour night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity
• Successful completion of at least 1 prior travel nursing contract (prior travel experience required)
• Current RN license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Ability to titrate drips (common drips include Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone)
