Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN ensures compliance with professional standards and promotes a caring, patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as primary or accountable nurse as assigned.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely with knowledge of pharmacology.
• Share responsibility for productivity and resource utilization including staffing and time management.
• Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies.
• Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, improvement initiatives, and peer review.
• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education.
• Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practice.
• Support learning for new employees and students.
• Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned.
• Participate in Clinical Ladder Program as expertise develops.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
• 1 year of Surgical ICU Stepdown experience, including experience within the last year.
• 3-5 years of total travel nursing experience.
• Operating Room (OR) experience.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
