Job Summary

• Perform CT scanning procedures with professionalism and service excellence.
• Prepare and maintain necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies according to protocols.
• Maintain sterility of field and instruments.
• Prepare requisitions accurately.
• Communicate with patients and families before, during, and after procedures to alleviate anxiety while maintaining privacy and dignity.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and respect patient privacy.
• Verify patient identification according to policy.
• Monitor patient condition before and after contrast injections; report any sudden changes to nursing staff and Radiologist.
• Ensure availability of medical records, previous reports, labs, and patient history.
• Initiate emergency response if complications arise.
• Maintain adequate linen, contrast media, and biopsy/drainage supplies in scanning rooms.
• Adhere to room assignments and assist in maintaining storeroom inventory.
• Participate in daily inventory, stocking, and cleaning of CT equipment and rooms.
• When assigned as Point staff, triage procedures, coordinate emergency and unscheduled requests, assign staff for efficient workflow, and communicate patient status with departments.
• Assess patient ability to tolerate contrast and screen for allergies or medication incompatibilities.
• Maintain QA/QC requirements per daily, monthly, and ACR specifications.
• Recognize and report equipment malfunctions and unusual findings to appropriate personnel.
• Follow venipuncture and power injector protocols.
• For urgent cases (e.g., Code Grey, Trauma), acquire, process, and send images immediately per protocol and notify Radiologist accordingly.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey
• CT Technologist with 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT RT (R) certification
• ARRT RT (CT) certification
• NJDEP – New Jersey State X-Ray License
• BLS Certification
• High school diploma or GED, or completion of a Radiographer technical training program from either a specialized School of Radiography or a college-based program
