CT Technologist Travel/Contract Position - Ohio, Columbus
Job Overview
- Position: CT Technologist
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Work: Works every third weekend
- On-Call: Call once every 10 weeks
- Work Environment: Level I trauma center, Stroke Accredited, fast-paced emergency room (ER) setting with emergent inpatient needs
- Patient Population: Adult ICU, inpatient, operating room, ER, community hospital
Responsibilities
- Perform CT procedures including abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, and brain perfusion
- Operate CT equipment efficiently to ensure high-quality imaging
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergent situations
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
Licensure & Certifications
- BLS certification required (AHA only; letter of completion not accepted)
- ARRT certification required
- Advanced certifications preferred but not mandatory
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide, sex offender, and MVR if driving is required
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required using specific code (3701.881) within 1 year of start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days or results are older than 1 year
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation confirmation required for all candidates
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
- TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test renewal
- Adult Tdap vaccination (not Td or DTaP) required; exemptions not allowed if working with infants or pregnant patients
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella; boosters required if low titer and no proof of vaccines
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required unless medical exemption documented
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series; signed declination acceptable
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); mask required if declining
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Competency & Training Requirements
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required for RNs/LVNs (not applicable here)
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam not applicable for CT Tech role
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy review and signature required
Additional Information
- Parking permits available for purchase (costs and options subject to change)
- Facility requires review and signing of ethics and compliance policies annually
- Fingerprinting proof required for subcontractors (physical receipt or photo of fingerprint cards)
- Background acknowledgement form required for subcontractors prior to start
This position is ideal for CT Technologists with at least 1 year of experience who are comfortable working night shifts in a high-acuity trauma and emergency setting. Candidates must meet strict background, health, and certification requirements to qualify.
