Description
Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Care Unit
Location: Chico, California
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM start)
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Description
- 30-bed Cardiovascular Unit providing medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care
- Patient acuity: medium to high, with complex cardiac diagnoses and co-morbidities
- Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients
- Common conditions include cardiac diagnoses, pre/post cardiac artery bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy, acute myocardial infarction (MI), post pacemaker insertion, arrhythmia detection, congestive heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, and similar disease processes
- Patient-to-nurse ratio does not exceed 4:1
- May float to other units including Medical/Surgical
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Experience in Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system
- Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment
Additional Information
- Must be a W-2 employee of the staffing agency
- Flexibility to float to Medical/Surgical and Critical Care units as needed
