Description
Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Sacramento, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking experienced Cath Lab nurses for a travel contract in a high-acuity cardiac catheterization lab. The unit performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath procedures including TAVR, Mitraclip, peripheral vascular cases, and advanced technologies such as Rotablator, IVUS, Shockwave, Impella, and Balloon Pump. The facility is a STEMI tertiary referral center and Chest Pain center accredited.
Schedule & Shift Details
- Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
- Hours per week: 36
- Call: One night per week and up to every other weekend
- Weekend & holiday requirement: Up to every other weekend
- Orientation: 2 shifts of floor-specific orientation
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
Additional Requirements & Information
- Must provide 2 supervisory references: one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years
- Candidates may not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by the associated health system within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
- Dys exam through UNA required prior to contract signing; must be completed within 24-48 hours with a pass/fail outcome (2 attempts allowed)
- EMR systems used: Cerner and Merge Hemodynamics for Cath Lab documentation
- Radiation badge supplied by agency
- Scrubs provided
- Unit has 3 procedure rooms
- Support staff includes CV Techs or Rad Techs with Cath Lab experience, IV team, respiratory therapy 24/7, pharmacy 24/7, and intensivist coverage in-house
