Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Cath Lab

Location: Lansing, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 10
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in a Cath Lab setting with exposure to a variety of cardiac and vascular procedures, including:

    • Heart catheterizations
    • Coronary and peripheral angioplasties and stents
    • Lytics administration
    • Embolizations
    • Impella patient management
    • Structural heart repairs (ASD and VSD)
    • TEEs and cardioversions
    • Tilt table testing
    • Pacemakers and ICDs management
    • Electrophysiology studies and complex ablations (especially Atrial Fibrillation)
    • Thoracenteses and paracenteses
    • Tunneled catheter placements
  • Manage pre- and post-procedure care, including holding area responsibilities.

  • Work with Cerner EMR and Phillips equipment.

  • Typical caseload: 20-30 cases per day with approximately 15 beds in the unit.

  • Dress code: Grey scrubs.


Required Qualifications

  • Previous Cath Lab experience is required.
  • Strong cardiac nursing proficiency.
  • Experience with pre- and post-procedure holding care.
  • STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) experience required.
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Michigan.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Phillips equipment and Cerner EMR system.
  • Prior travel nursing experience is preferred but not required.

Additional Information

  • This position is in a tertiary teaching hospital with acute care beds and specialized cardiac programs.
  • The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of cardiac cases.
