    Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

    Location: Crescent City, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Details

    • Shift: Evening (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM)
    • Hours per Week: 36
    • Experience Required: Minimum 5 years as an RN in Emergency Room (ER) setting
    • Schedule: Every other weekend required

    Required Certifications

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - valid for 4 years
    • State RN License - primary source verification required within 30 days of start
    • NURSYS Verification for RN license within 30 days of start

    Additional certifications may be required based on position specifics; verify with recruiter.


    Required Background and Compliance Checks

    • 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable
    • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter (or equivalent checks if FACIS III cannot be run)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
    • TB Screening Questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
    • Negative TB test (QGold, TSPOT, or PPD) within 90 days of start, renewed annually
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per California law)
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work
    • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations considered for religious exemptions or facial hair)
    • Immunizations and titers:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
      • Hepatitis B series or declination
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination
      • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)

    Required Documentation

    • Full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days, including city and state of employment
    • Two professional references within 3 years (clinical candidates)
    • Unit-specific skills checklist, renewed annually
    • Review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
      • Job description
      • Standards of business conduct
      • Vendor training and code of conduct (for contracts signed 5/31/24 and beyond)
      • Overpayment refund policy
      • TB questionnaire
      • Request for religious accommodation form (if applicable)

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • Current PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
