Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Norfolk, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
  • Directly supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
  • Average patient load: 5-8 patients per day.
  • Types of visits include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic, with typical weekly travel between 100-150 miles.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (standard 5x8 hours). Some positions may have a 4x10 schedule (Friday-Monday).
  • Charting system: Proficiency required in HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) within the last 6 months; RNs must also be proficient in OASIS. Retraining required if last use was over 6 months ago.
  • Dress code: Scrubs.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Home Health experience, including experience working with adult patients.
  • Hospice experience.
  • Proficiency with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and OASIS documentation systems.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
