Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry
Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
- Number of Openings: 1
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Shifts: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
- Call Requirements: None scheduled; possible shift flex to on-call up to twice during contract
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Unit Beds: 40
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Patient Types: Total joint patients, surgical patients, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute on chronic conditions (CHF, CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB)
- Float Requirements: Expected to float to other units including Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED)
- Equipment Used: Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinet, Zoll defibrillators
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- Acute care experience required
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
Orientation & Schedule Notes
- Orientation provided weekly
- No block schedule requests accepted; 48-hour shifts can be considered but are not guaranteed
Work Environment & Culture
- Community hospital, Joint Commission accredited, Level 3 Trauma center
- Dress Code: Black scrubs (top and bottom); open shoes are not allowed
- Personality Fit: Compassionate, positive, can-do attitude
