Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery
Location
- Fort Wayne, Indiana
- Work at two locations approximately 18 miles apart
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Work 3 out of 4 weekends
- No on-call requirement
Unit Details
- Labor & Delivery unit with 16 LDR rooms at one location and 10 LDR rooms at the other
- Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:1; may be 1:2 during early labor or induction, and 1:3 for couplet care
- Floating between the two locations as needed
Job Responsibilities
- Care for laboring patients during vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Circulate during C-sections (minimum 2 years experience required)
- Care for couplets (mother and newborn)
- Use of EPIC Stork documentation, Centricity fetal monitoring system, and Pyxis medication system
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience, including circulating C-sections
- Indiana RN license or compact RN license
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) through AHA
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- STABLE certification
Additional Information
- Hospital-provided scrubs for night shift (7pm-7am)
- Orientation: 8 hours non-billable orientation; clinicians returning within 12 months of last worked date are not eligible for non-billable orientation
- Local travelers within 50 miles are accepted with a rate adjustment
- Client may cancel or call off up to 24 hours before the start of the assignment
