Job Opportunity: Med/Tele Registered Nurse - Nights

Location: Ithaca, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (Night Shift)

Job Description

• Bedside patient care position
• Requires experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Work schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience
• Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Health and Safety Compliance

• COVID-19 vaccine proof or agency declination (optional)
• MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; if negative/equivocal, vaccination series must be completed within 30 days of start
• Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; if negative/equivocal, vaccination series must be completed within 30 days of start
• Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or specific declination form required
• Tdap: Preferred but not required; if no record, declination form needed
• TB Test: Must have one of the following within required timeframes:

  • Two skin PPDs (one within 12 months, one within 3 months) OR
  • One Quantiferon/Spot test within 12 months
  • For past positive TB tests, chest x-ray within 12 months may be required
• Annual physical/health statement within last 12 months including height, weight, vitals, Snellen eye chart, and physician’s clearance with no restrictions
• Annual fit test for respiratory protection within last 12 months (specific mask types listed; on-site fit testing available if needed)
• Drug screen: 9+ panel drug test within 30 days of start

Onboarding & Documentation Requirements

• Completed and signed job description
• Centralus Skills Checklist for the assigned unit, fully complete and updated annually
• Core Competency Exams (Nursing Core Comp I, II, and III) with minimum score of 80%
• Background check within 30 days of start including:

  • SSN address trace report covering all counties lived/worked in last 7 years
  • National and county criminal searches
  • FACIS 3 check
• 7 Instant Background Checks (manual upload required)
• Two professional references:

  • One supervisor reference from employment within last 12 months
  • One supervisor or peer reference from employment within last 3 years
• Employment verification of most recent employer (agency verification accepted)
• Color headshot photo (JPEG, straightforward, no filters or sunglasses)
• Centralus Health Personal Information Form, Code of Conduct, Confirmation of Assignment Form, Self Study Packet and Quiz, Sexual Harassment Acknowledgement, Parking Registration Form (all found in document library)
• TB Questionnaire Form and Epic Questionnaire (specific forms required)
• Pharmacology Exam

Additional Notes

• Contract length interpreted as 13 weeks
• Night shift with Telemetry and Medical/Surgical patient care focus
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Epic experience mandatory
