Registered Nurse – ER (California, Antioch)

Job Details

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Alternating weekends required
• Department aims to keep shift start times consistent weekly

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications (must be current and from AHA or ARC unless otherwise noted):

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course; valid for 4 years)
  • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification)

Compliance & Documentation

• Must complete and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:

  • Job description review
  • Standards of Business Conduct
  • Vendor training and Code of Conduct (for contracts signed 5/31/24 and beyond)
  • Conflict of Interest Policy
  • Conditional Offer of Employment Attestation
  • TB Screening Questionnaire (signed by candidate and healthcare provider)
  • Request for Religious Accommodation Form (if applicable)
  • Epic Questionnaire (RN only, required for new candidates starting 11/3/2025 onward)
• Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
• Verification of up to 7 years of employment required; gaps over 30 days must be explained
• Two professional references required (within 3 years)

Additional Information

• Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
• Medication/pharmacology competency exams may be required as applicable
• ICU RNs may be required to take EKG exams onsite after start
• Candidates with positive TB history must have a negative chest x-ray within 1 year of start
• Religious and medical exemptions for immunizations considered on a case-by-case basis with required documentation
