Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Contract Length: 26 weeks (option to specify 13 or 26 weeks)
Shift: Night Shift (4 days per week, 10 hours per day; 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Perform CT (Cat Scan) technology duties in hospital/acute care settings.
  • Patient population primarily adults, with occasional pediatric cases.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required.
  • Experience with Siemens equipment is highly preferred.
  • Scrub color: Black.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey
  • Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience in an acute care setting
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID and valid driver’s license required within 48 hours of signing.
  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias and multi-level searches. No open cases allowed at start.
  • Drug screen (10-panel urine) within 30 days of start.
  • Employment verification covering 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days.
  • Must clear state-specific exclusions and federal databases (e.g., EPLS, HHS/OIG).
  • Required to sign attestation if background checks are pending at start.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within the last 12 months confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start; additional clearance if history of positive TB.
  • Annual influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required.
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccine compliance)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within last 10 years
  • Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing mandatory prior to start; must be updated annually.
  • Color vision test required if job tasks involve color discrimination.
  • Latex allergy screening questionnaire required if applicable.

Competency and Testing Requirements

  • Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam within 72 hours of signing.
  • Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication knowledge as applicable.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units; confirm applicability.
  • IV Therapy/Infusion exam required for all RNs except those in OR specialties (not applicable for CT Tech).
  • Annual continuing education units (CEUs) as applicable, including trauma and stroke CEUs for relevant units.

Documentation and Orientation

  • Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required.
  • Two professional references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.
  • Completion of facility-specific floating policy and annual education sign-off prior to start.
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing if applicable.
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment including OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission training.
