Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Surgery (Travel)
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Circulate complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases including:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
- Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
- Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
- Ascending Aortic Aneurysms
- Aortic Root Replacements
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repairs
- Femoral-Popliteal Bypass
- Carotid Endarterectomy
- Arteriovenous (AV) fistula
- Impella placement
- Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) cases
- Thoracotomy and Robotic thoracotomy
- Ventricular Assist Devices (preferred)
Patient ratio: 1:1
Unit size: 4 Operating Rooms
No floating to other units
Scrubs provided by hospital
Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner
Shift hours: Approximately 06:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Call requirements: 1 night per week and every 6th weekend
Weekly hours: 36
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with the following cardiovascular surgical procedures:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
- Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
- Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
- Ascending Aortic Aneurysms
- Aortic Root Replacements
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repairs
- Femoral-Popliteal Bypass
- Carotid Endarterectomy
- Arteriovenous (AV) fistula
- Impella placement
