Description
Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
Location: Ithaca, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Summary
- Provide patient care, circulate, and monitor interventional cardiac catheterizations and invasive vascular procedures.
- Experience with supplies and devices used in coronary and peripheral angiography, angioplasty, thrombectomy, stenting, and related procedures is required.
- STEMI call required; shift details negotiable during contract discussions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS certification.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Immunizations and Testing:
- MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; documentation must show individual results for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella.
- Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required.
- Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or signed declination form.
- TB Test: Must have one of the following within required timeframes:
- Two PPD skin tests (one within 12 months, one within 3 months) or
- One Quantiferon/Spot test within 12 months.
- For past positive TB tests, chest x-ray within 12 months may be required.
- Tdap: Preferred within last 10 years; if not available, signed declination form required.
- Fit Test: Annual fit test required within last 12 months; must be completed prior to start. PAPR provided if needed.
- Physical/Health Statement: Must be dated within last 12 months, include physician credentials, clinic location, phone number, height, weight, vitals, Snellen eye chart, and a statement of clearance with no restrictions.
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Optional; proof of vaccination or agency declination can be uploaded.
Documentation and Onboarding Requirements
- Valid US driver’s license or state ID (cannot be expired).
- Background check completed within 30 days of start, including:
- SSN address trace report covering all counties lived/worked in last 7 years.
- National and county criminal searches.
- FACIS 3 check.
- Drug screen within 30 days of start: 9+ panel including amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, oxycodone, phencyclidine, methadone, methaqualone, propoxyphene, nitrites.
- Resume documenting all employment and gaps for last 7 years, with education history and dates.
- Two professional references:
- One supervisor reference from employment within last 12 months.
- One supervisor or peer reference from employment within last 3 years.
- Employment verification of most recent employer (agency verification accepted).
- Signed and dated job description.
- Color headshot photo (JPEG, clear, no filters, no sunglasses).
- Completion of agency-specific forms and acknowledgments including code of conduct, sexual harassment acknowledgement, confirmation of assignment, self-study packet and quiz, parking registration form, and drug/tobacco acknowledgment.
- Completion of Pharmacology Exam.
- Completion of TB Questionnaire Form.
- Completion of agency Epic Questionnaire (specific form required).
Additional Notes
- All required certifications must remain valid throughout the assignment.
- Skills checklist and competency exams must be fully completed and up to date.
- Some documentation and forms are found in the agency’s document library and must be completed prior to or at onboarding.
- Contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
- STEMI call responsibilities are part of the role.
