Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Call Requirement: None
Float Requirement: Yes

Unit and Patient Information

• Behavioral Health unit covering adult, pediatric (ages 5-17), and geriatric populations
• 104 beds across five units: 2 adult units (24 beds each), 1 geriatric unit (24 beds), 1 pediatric unit (12 beds)
• Patient ratios approximately 1:8, with lower ratios for geriatric and pediatric units
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
• Supervision by shift supervisors only

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation
• Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Communicate changes in patient clinical condition to physicians, nursing supervisors/managers, and coworkers
• Participate in discharge planning

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Experience in an inpatient psychiatric/behavioral health setting
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral health nursing
• Willingness to work with adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations
