    Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

    Location: Santa Rosa, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Details

    • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (5:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
    • Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 3 patients
    • Orientation: 36 hours
    • Scheduling: No block scheduling; floating between similar units required
    • Work Schedule: 4x12 shifts allowed upon request
    • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
    • Local candidates: Not accepted
    • Pending license: Not accepted

    Required Experience & Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
    • Postpartum nursing experience
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

    Required Certifications

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • AWHONN Intermediate
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

    Preferred Certification:

    • AWHONN Advanced

    Licensure

    • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for California
    • NURSYS verification required

    Health & Safety Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
    • Immunizations/vaccinations:
      • TDAP (within 10 years, declination accepted)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual update required)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) with 2 vaccines or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
      • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
    • 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start

    Background & Compliance

    • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • Education verification required for nursing degree
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
    • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
    • Work history verification required if reference exceptions are requested

    Additional Requirements

    • Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
    • Completion of Epic training modules as required by facility
    • Float policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to other nearby units/facilities)

    Notes

    • This position requires flexibility to float between like units.
    • Locals and candidates with pending licenses are not accepted.
    • Prior travel experience is not required.
