Registered Nurse – GI Lab (Travel/Contract)
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Administering and monitoring Conscious Sedation
- Must be available Monday through Friday (no weekends)
- On-call required
- Floating between similar units required
- Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion
- Locals accepted
- Guaranteed hours with possible call-off once per two-week pay period

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 1 year of GI Lab experience, with experience within the last year
- Experience administering and monitoring Conscious Sedation
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
- E-Verify attestation required
- Education verification (nursing degree)
- NURSYS license verification for RNs
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Respiratory safety clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps
- Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
Additional Requirements
- Must comply with facility floating policy (may float to other nearby facilities)
- Must complete required annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS
- Epic training modules required prior to or shortly after start date
- Color blind testing may be required on a unit-by-unit basis if requested
- Medication aide competency exam required if applicable (not typical for RN)
Work Environment & Notes
- Facility uses Royal Blue or Navy Blue scrubs for RNs
- Pediatric RNs have specific scrub colors (not applicable here)
- Facility provides scrubs for OR/Endo/L&D/PACU units
