Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Carmel, Indiana
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (6:45 AM - 5:15 PM)
  • Call Requirements: Minimum 2 days per week and every 3rd weekend
  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Procedures:
    • Cardiac: Left and Right Heart Catheterization (LHC, RHC), Balloon pumps, Temporary pacer, Permanent pacer/defibrillator, Pericardial effusion management, STEMI call
    • Interventional Radiology (IR): Venous access, drain placements, GI tube insertion, Pulmonary Embolism (PE), Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS), Peritoneovenous shunts (PV), Fistula work, Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE), prostate embolization, GI/Postpartum/internal bleed management
  • Equipment Experience: Acist injector, Siemens and Philips C-arms, Medrad power injector, Rotopro, Diamondback, IVUS, OCT, Shock wave, Rampart, Pneumbra, Inari
  • Skills Required: Circulating, Conscious Sedation

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Indiana
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ARRT or RCIS certification
  • Official transcript or diploma showing degree awarded and graduation date, or high school transcript/diploma for allied positions that do not require higher education

Compliance & Documentation

  • Background checks required within 90 days of start, including:
    • 7-year SSN trace, county, state, national sex offender, FACIS Level III
    • Education verification (official transcript or diploma)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start date
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start (N95 or approved respirators)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
    • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Strongly recommended but not required
    • Flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31); no declinations accepted
  • Tuberculosis testing (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start; chest x-ray required if positive test history
  • Color blind testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
  • Skills checklist and competency exams required annually and within 12 months of start
  • Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or above)
  • Current employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days

Additional Notes

  • Facility-specific orientation and compliance forms must be completed prior to start
  • Self-study orientation and testing required before start
  • On-site fit testing available only as a last resort and with prior approval
  • PAPR use requires facility approval prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable with call responsibilities and a variety of cardiac and interventional radiology procedures.
