Job Opportunity: Childbirth RN (Night Shift)
Location: Northampton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide family-centered nursing care for patients with antepartum medical conditions, patients in labor (vaginal and Cesarean-section), newborns, postpartum patients, and patients with gynecological conditions.
- Collaborate on an interdisciplinary level, adapting communication to patients’ intellectual and physical abilities.
- Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Massachusetts (no conditional licenses accepted).
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Fetal Heart Monitoring certification (AWHONN or NCC), with renewal every 2 years.
Required Health & Safety Compliance
- N95 Respirator Fit Test completed within 1 year prior to start date and updated annually (no exemptions allowed).
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation completed prior to fit testing.
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) or proof of immunity via blood test.
- Tuberculosis (TB) screening: negative skin test or blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if there is a break longer than 6 months.
- Physician Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 1 year of start date, updated if break longer than 6 months.
Required Professional Documentation
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state for all positions and education.
- Two professional references within the last 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the relevant skillset.
- Completed skills checklist within 1 year of submission.
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including county and international residence/travel history for the last 7 years.
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date.
- Social Security Number trace covering the last 7 years.
- National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
- Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
- Education verification of highest level achieved (except CNA positions).
- Confirmation of Assignment/Point of Information form upon acceptance and for any assignment changes.
Additional Notes
- A professional badge photo (color, plain background, no filters or glasses) taken within the last 6 months is required for onboarding.
- Positive TB test results require a negative chest X-ray dated after the positive test (optional but recommended).
- Name change documentation may be required if legal name differs from credential documents.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
