Registered Nurse (RN) - Flex Pool - Nights
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Float RN position covering various medical and surgical units including Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and occasionally Cardiovascular units.
- Work primarily 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 07:15).
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation; hours are not guaranteed.
- Use of Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
- Orientation provided for each unit.
Unit Details
- Medical Unit: 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:8 at night.
- Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute): 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6.
- Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4.
- Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
- Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year.
- Stepdown unit experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
Additional Information
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
- Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required.
