Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
Location: Apple Valley, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse for an acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds. The position involves working a 4x10 hour day shift (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with on-call responsibilities during weeknights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- On-call required: 5:30 PM - 7:00 AM on weeknights and weekends (Friday evening through Monday morning)
- Weekend coverage may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs
- Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
- Locals within a 50-mile radius are accepted

- Charting system: Epic

Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test required annually (on-site testing available if needed)
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series or signed declination)
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declinations accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use
Background & Compliance
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required (nursing degree verification)
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
- Work history verification may be required if reference exceptions are requested
- Various state-specific background checks and attestations may apply depending on placement location
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Float policy acknowledgment: may be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance
Notes
- This is a reduced orientation position with 0 hours of non-billable orientation (standard is 40 hours)
- Prior travel experience is required; no first-time travelers accepted
- Candidates must submit return-to-office (RTO) details at time of submission
