Description

Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab

Location: Franklin, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (10-hour shifts)
Call Requirements:

  • 1-2 weekday call days
  • Every 2nd or 3rd weekend
  • Rotating holiday call with regular staff

Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in the Cath Lab with strong clinical skills.
  • Ability to monitor cases as needed.
  • Must be able to float onsite within skill set or to nearby sites within 40 miles to meet guaranteed weekly hours.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
  • Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with experience within the last year.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Prior travel experience.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • Current nursing license verification (primary source) within 30 days prior to start.
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Professional resume/profile and at least two professional references.
  • Completion of specialty competency exam with minimum 80% passing score.
  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics.
  • Passing score on EKG exam updated every 3 years.
  • Epic test-out and training checklist with signed attestation.
  • Health and immunization documentation including:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations)
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine (optional, but mask required if declined during flu season)
    • Tdap valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA testing for TB with annual updates
    • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start)
    • Statement of good health or physical exam prior to assignment and annually thereafter
  • Background checks including criminal, employment, and EPLS within 90 days of start.
  • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
  • Driver’s license or state ID current and matching address requirements.

Additional Notes

  • Floating to other sites within 40 miles may be required to fulfill guaranteed hours.
  • Call schedule includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
  • Must be able to work independently and assist with monitoring during procedures.

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs with prior travel experience seeking a structured long-term assignment with consistent weekday shifts and call responsibilities.
