Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information
- Unit: 6 West Neurosciences
- Beds: 36
- Staff: 40 total
- Day Shift Staffing: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Night Shift Staffing: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Patient Ratios:
- Day Shift: 5:1 (standard), 6:1 (stretch)
- Night Shift: 7:1 (stretch)
- Equipment: Standard Medical-Surgical Equipment
- EMR System: Cerner
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) License (North Carolina)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the specialty
Preferred Skills
- Neuro experience
Typical Procedures
- Foley catheter insertion
- IV starts
Work Environment & Culture
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
- Floating: May be assigned to other medical-surgical floors
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend off
- Personality Fit: Outgoing, self-motivated
- New staff receive a reference book at the start of the contract
Additional Notes
- This is a telemetry unit (Tele = Telemetry) focused on neurosciences.
- Candidates without ACLS and NIH certification will not be considered.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience
- Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
