Description

Case Manager (Registered Nurse) - Travel/Contract

Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Responsible for medical necessity review, discharge planning, and utilization review.
  • Communicates changes in patient care plans to the healthcare team.
  • Maintains knowledge of community resources and referral processes.
  • Anticipates patient needs and manages length of stay (LOS) to ensure timely transitions to alternative levels of care.
  • Documents initial screenings and discharge plans consistently and timely.
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
  • Unit accepts first-time travelers.
  • 100-mile radius rule applies; no local candidates accepted.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Idaho
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of case management experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
  • E-Verify compliance or attestation as applicable.
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire.
    • Education verification of highest level completed (transcript/diploma accepted as placeholder if needed).
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start.
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types required by location).
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years (no declinations except approved medical exemptions).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year. TB questionnaire if positive results.
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative/equivocal.
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted.
    • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented chickenpox history required; boosters if negative/equivocal.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
  • Photo for badge (clear headshot).
  • Skills checklist and work history verification (7 years).
  • Employment application/resume required.

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
  • Must comply with 100-mile radius rule (no local candidates).
  • Documentation and credentialing must be completed prior to start.
