Cardiac Cath Lab Tech

Location: Inverness, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Unit Overview

• Facility has 2 cath lab rooms, 10 pre & post procedure beds, and 6 holding beds.
• Staff: Approximately 20 team members including RNs and Cardiovascular Technologists.
• Shifts: 10-hour day shifts with call; night shift details not specified.
• Patient Ratios:

  • Cath lab: 1:1
  • Holding: 2:1
  • Pre/Post procedure: 4:1
• Equipment used includes GE imaging equipment, Volcano, Rotoblator, Angiojet, IABP, Impella, Penumbra, and Inari.
• EMR systems: Cerner and Merge hemodynamic system.
• The cath lab is very dynamic and busy, performing all structural heart procedures with an advanced cardiac program including residents and cardiac fellows.

Typical Procedures

• Heart catheterizations and interventions
• Peripheral catheterizations and interventions
• TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
• Mitra Clip
• Watchman device implantation
• Pacemaker and ICD implants
• Electrophysiology (EP) studies and ablations
• PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale) and ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) closures
• Carotid stents

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Florida
• Cath Lab Technologist certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Structural Heart procedures.
• Electrophysiology (EP) experience.
