Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room
Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Unit & Work Environment
- Unit: Preoperative Holding / Day Surgery
- Number of Beds: 472
- Staffing: Unit secretaries and techs available in Day Surgery
- Equipment: Cardiac monitors, ultrasound, EKG machine
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling:
- 3 shifts of 12 hours or 4 shifts of 10 hours considered
- One closing day per week (shift starts between 5:00 am and 7:00 am depending on surgery schedule)
- Closing day shift runs from 7:00 am until last patient leaves, with time-and-a-half pay after 7:00 pm
- Floating Policy: Only floats between Day Surgery and Preop Holding
- No weekends or holidays required
- Excellent teamwork on unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Experience in Pre-Op and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
