Description
Critical Care RN Travel
Location: Fairfield, California
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing Travel
Contract Length: 9 weeks
Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week)
- 7/10 staffing ratio (7 patients to 1 nurse)
- Must be willing and able to float to a sister facility as needed
- Department operates on AWS (Advanced Workflow System)
- Double time after 12 hours per day, overtime after 40 hours per week
Job Description
- Deliver safe, effective, quality nursing care based on established nursing models and theories (e.g., Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care).
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for assigned patients, considering physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote, maintain, and restore health.
- Formulate nursing diagnoses and care plans ensuring patient safety, comfort, hygiene, disease prevention, and restorative measures.
- Perform nursing skills, explain treatments, and educate patients and families on health care needs.
- Evaluate care effectiveness and modify plans as necessary.
- Demonstrate knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise care team members within their legal scope of practice.
- Advocate for patients’ rights and informed decision-making.
- Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards.
- Coordinate patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary staff.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
- Experience in Critical Care nursing (minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard for specialty RN roles)
- Ability to work night shifts and float between facilities as needed
