Description
Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel Position
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: K9-B Observation Unit
- Beds: 20
- Staff per shift:
- Day: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCT), 1 Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)
- Night: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 PCTs, 1 HUC
- Patient Ratios:
- Day Shift: 1:5 (stretch 1:6)
- Night Shift: 1:6 (stretch 1:7)
- Equipment used: Telemetry monitors, Baxter pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner/Power Chart
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a telemetry observation unit
- Typical procedures include telemetry monitoring, Foley catheter insertion, and IV starts
- Floating may be required to other med-surg units including trauma, renal, neuro, ortho, spine, and general surgery
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Telemetry certification
Work Schedule & Environment
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Dress code: Scrubs in all navy, all white, or white top with navy bottoms
- Personality fit: Outgoing, enjoys fast-paced environment, team player

- Attendance policy provided during hire-on process
- This is a travel nursing assignment with exposure to a high-acuity telemetry unit in a Level II trauma and comprehensive stroke center environment
