Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg / Telemetry (Travel Assignment)
Location
- Saint Louis, Missouri
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend as required
- Call Requirements: None

- Equipment Used: Bladder scanner, vein finder, IV pumps, wound vacs
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Valid Driver's License
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Utilize the nursing process for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
- Maintain professional accountability and adhere to nursing practice standards and state Nurse Practice Act
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs; minimal kneeling, crouching, crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids
- Flexible scheduling may be required based on patient care needs
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccination required between November 1 and April 1; declinations not accepted
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; availability for full orientation week required
- Dress code: Black scrubs only; no other attire permitted
