    Job Opportunity: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel)

    Location

    Contract Length

    • 13 weeks

    Shift Details

    • 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
    • Initial duration: 8 weeks
    • Department follows Alternative Work Schedule (AWS)
      • Overtime after 40 hours per week
      • Double time after 12 hours in a day

    Job Description

    • Deliver safe, effective, and quality nursing care in Labor & Delivery using Relationship Based Care and Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring.
    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs.
    • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote health and recovery.
    • Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethical care within legal standards.
    • Delegate and supervise nursing care tasks appropriately.
    • Act as patient advocate to ensure informed decision-making and quality care.
    • Utilize manual and automated information systems for documentation and productivity.
    • Maintain patient satisfaction by effective communication, complaint resolution, and positive interactions.
    • Safely use equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
    • Perform physical duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
    • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
    • Acute care nursing experience
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
    • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
    • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

    Additional Information

    • Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skills required
    • Completion of annual organizational employment requirements
    • Accountable for meeting unit and organizational patient satisfaction goals
    • Responsible for investigating and assisting in resolution of complaints
    • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
