Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Laguna Hills, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Schedule: Variable days with rotating weekends, holidays, and weeknight on-call required
- Start Date: ASAP
- Floating: Not required
- Weekend Work: Required
- On-call: Required

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
- Operating Room experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background checks including:
- Standard 7-year search (locations lived/worked/schooled)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Professional references: 2 required
- Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
- Annual internal evaluation if employed for 1 year or more
- Photo for badge
- Facility-specific policy reviews (e.g., Hand Hygiene, Dress and Appearance)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- N95 Fit Mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (no onsite fit testing)
- Immunizations and titers:
- TDAP within last 10 years (declination allowed)
- Negative TB test (QGOLD, TSPOT, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year, updated annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declination allowed if immunocompromised or pregnant)
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (declination allowed)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declination allowed)
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (excluding marijuana panel due to California state restrictions)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required November 1 – April 30 (declination allowed with masking)
- COVID vaccination record preferred
Training and Education Requirements
- Completion of EPIC Education modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours) with facility-specific deadlines
- Completion of YouLearn modules assigned by facility prior to or during orientation
- HIPAA compliance training required before EPIC modules, with certificate valid for 12 months (renewal required if gap over 1 year)
Time Off and Scheduling
- Pre-approved time off allowed at manager’s discretion; requests must be submitted with application
This position offers an opportunity for experienced OR Registered Nurses to work a travel contract in a well-equipped facility with a supportive onboarding and compliance process. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
