Cath Lab Technician - Traveler (Day Shift)

Location: Olympia Fields, Illinois
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM


Job Summary

  • Assist physicians (Cardiologist/Radiologist) by scrubbing procedures and monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular lab procedures.
  • Prepare procedure room and maintain adequate instrument and supply levels.
  • Participate in staff meetings, performance improvement activities, and training of new staff.
  • Support all invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • ARRT-R certification required.
    • ARRT-CI (Cardiac Interventional Technologist), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive (RCI) certification accepted.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • Driver’s license, State ID, or Passport required for onboarding.
  • National criminal background check within one year of start date.
  • COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses plus booster) or completed declination.
  • Immunization or proof of immunity for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza (seasonal), and Tdap.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test within one year of start date and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Annual respirator fit test completed prior to start.
  • Physical/health statement confirming clearance to work, completed annually or within 60 days of start.
  • Drug screening (minimum 10-panel test including THC) within 60 days of start.
  • Color-blind test completed annually.
  • Completion of workplace violence prevention training.
  • Completion of core competencies exam and specialty exam with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Submission of updated resume and two professional references (one must be from a manager or direct supervisor).
  • Signed job description and onboarding education attestation prior to clearance to start.
  • Badge photo (clear headshot) for facility identification.
  • Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9) or agency attestation.
  • Primary source verification of professional license/certification within 30 days of start and updated upon expiration.
