Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Labor and Delivery
- Number of Beds: 16
- Number of Staff: 120
- Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2
- Equipment: Baxter Pumps, Phillips electronic fetal monitoring
- EMR System: Cerner, Fetal ink
- Typical Procedures:
- Vaginal Deliveries
- Cesarean Sections
- D&C (Dilation and Curettage)
- Cerclage
- C-Hyst (Cesarean Hysterectomy)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Experience working with high-risk patients
Work Environment & Culture
- Shift Type: Day and Night shifts available
- Staff Roles on Shift: Charge nurse, Patient Care Technician (PCT), Certified Surgical Technician (CST), Registered Nurse (RN)
- Dress Code: Scrubs provided
- Floating Areas: Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit (MFMU), Mother-Baby Unit (MOMB), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Weekends and On-call: Not required but available upon approval
