Description
Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Position
Location: Payson, Utah
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Level 2 NICU with 5 beds, including one negative pressure room
- Care for babies up to 30 days old, including CPAP patients (no ventilators; vented babies are transferred)
- Patient ratios: 1:1 for CPAP, otherwise 1:2, occasionally 1:3 for feeder growers
- Unit works closely with mother-baby and labor/postpartum units; floating primarily to mother-baby when NICU census is low
- Equipment includes OG tubes, IVs, Hi Flow, CPAP, PANDA warmers, and Giraffe warmers
- Documentation system: CPN
- Scheduling: 3 shifts per week
- Patient experience measured by Press Ganey scores
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah
- Minimum 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
- HHCCA - De-escalation Skills in Healthcare Setting
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Unit culture: Nurses report high job satisfaction with low turnover despite covering FMLA leaves
- Delivery volume: Approximately 30-40 babies per month
- Women’s services unit has received "Unit of Distinction" award for 3 consecutive years
- Dress code: Wine-colored scrubs (some available on unit)

- Prior travel experience is not specified as required
- Floating primarily to mother-baby unit when NICU census is low; NICU census averages about 50 babies per year
