Registered Nurse – Endoscopy

Location: Herrin, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with on-call requirements
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in the Endoscopy department.
• Perform and assist with procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube placement, bronchoscopy, esophageal stent placement, and pain management procedures.
• Administer moderate sedation.
• Use EPIC for charting.
• Admit and discharge patients in the perioperative area.
• Float to other facilities within the organization as needed.
• On-call duties include up to 2 weeknights and 2 weekend days per week, with a 45-minute callback time.
• Assess patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients and their responsible persons.
• Use clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Participate in continuing education.
• Contribute to a healthy workplace environment by managing conflict professionally.
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum of 2 years of Endoscopy nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health records
