Description
Registered Nurse (ED) - Montana, Billings
Job Summary
- Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- Continuously evaluate patient health status through data collection and assessment.
- Provide health teaching and counseling.
- Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching.
- Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
- Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
- Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Utilize resources effectively.
- May float to other departments within competency and qualifications.
- May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.
Contract Length
- 12 weeks
Work Schedule
- Variable 12-hour shifts, primarily nights and evenings
- Approximately 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
- Certification relevant to the unit or service
Skills and Experience
- Health teaching, nursing care, health data assessment, and health counseling
- Therapy and treatment planning and monitoring
- Execution of medical functions and patient referral
- Clinical documentation and resource utilization
