CT Tech - Radiology

Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform diagnostic CT scans under the supervision of the CT Supervisor.
• Assist radiologists during CT scan procedures.
• Provide patient care aligned with age-specific competency standards (neonatal to geriatric).
• Coordinate daily workflow and assist with throughput for ER, inpatients, and outpatients.
• Administer IV contrast materials under radiologist direction.
• Operate CT scanning and contrast injecting equipment proficiently.
• Use hospital and departmental computer systems related to CT imaging.
• Maintain current CPR certification and complete mandatory in-services.
• May be required to float within competency areas, work major holidays, and pick up an additional shift during the schedule period.
• No call required.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM
• 40 guaranteed hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Nevada
• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Prior travel experience required

Job Challenges and Responsibilities

• Provide advanced imaging for trauma, stroke, code aorta, and other urgent cases.
• Manage care prioritization amid rapidly changing patient volumes.
• Operate a variety of sophisticated CT imaging units and image storage systems.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures for CT imaging.
• Contribute to strategic planning for the CT department’s future direction.

• The facility is a Level II Trauma Center and the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City.
• The center treats over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually.
• Offers advanced technologies including low-dose CT imaging, Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, PET/CT scanner, Biplane Angiography, and 3T MRI.
• The facility includes a children’s hospital and specialized institutes for heart failure and neurosciences.
