Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Labor and Delivery)

  • Gallatin, Tennessee

Employment Type

  • Travel contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit and Facility Information

  • Unit: Labor & Delivery / Nursery / Postpartum
  • Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center
  • Number of L&D beds: 5
  • Patient population: Maternity women and newborns
  • Patient ratios: 1:1 on Pitocin, 1:2 otherwise
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
  • Charting system for fetal monitoring: OB Tracevue
  • Facility performs own C-sections; RN expected to at least circulate during procedures

Work Schedule

  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
  • Weekend hours: Every other weekend rotation / as needed
  • Call requirements: 2 shifts of call in a 6-week period
  • Float requirements: As needed

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
  • OB/GYN experience
  • Ability to circulate during procedures
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Additional Information

  • Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
  • Must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as a travel nurse
  • Tennessee Abuse Registry check required prior to assignment start date
  • Positive attitude, cooperative, and initiative-taking personality fit
