ER Registered Nurse

Location

Bakersfield, California

Contract Length

18 weeks

Schedule

12-hour night shifts
36 hours per week
No block scheduling; flexibility is required
Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month
Holidays are expected unless the holiday falls during contracted time off
No call, but standby may be assigned for low census with a 30-minute response time if called in

Required Qualifications

Active California RN license
BLS
ACLS
PALS
NIHSS
3 full years of experience
Travel experience required
Experience in triage
Experience with both adult and pediatric ER patients
Significant pediatric ER experience is required for pediatric ER assignments

Clinical Setting

Emergency department with adult and pediatric care
May be required to float to pediatric ER
No floating outside of the ER
Approximate volume: 325 visits per day across both ERs
Adult ER has 36 treatment areas
Pediatric ER has 12 treatment areas plus 8 fast-track pods
Adult ER receives STEMI, CVA, and burn patients
Pediatric ER is a pediatric receiving center

Additional Notes

Monitor techs are present
Phlebotomy is available
ER techs or CNAs are used
Navy blue scrubs are required for RNs
