Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Setting: Works across two nearby labor and delivery locations

Required Qualifications

  • Active Indiana or compact RN license
  • 2+ years of labor and delivery experience
  • 2+ years of circulating C-sections experience
  • BLS through AHA
  • ACLS through AHA
  • NRP
  • STABLE

Key Responsibilities

  • Care for laboring patients
  • Assist during vaginal and cesarean deliveries
  • Provide couplet care

Schedule / Work Conditions

  • Works 3 out of 4 weekends
  • No call requirement
  • May float between the two assigned locations based on need

Unit Details

  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1
  • May be 1:2 in early labor or induction
  • Couplet care ratio is 1:3

Additional Notes

  • Hospital-provided scrubs
  • Local clinicians within 50 miles are subject to a reduced local rate
  • 8 hours of non-billable orientation
  • Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours per 13-week assignment
