Required Qualifications
- Active RN role
- BLS
- ACLS
- 2 years of core experience in the specialty
- Level I trauma experience
- Teaching hospital experience
- Cerner experience
- 2 years of telemetry experience
Assignment Details
- 30-bed unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5
- Charge nurse does not take patients
- Weekend requirement: 3 shifts in a 4-week period
- Holidays are worked into the permanent staff rotation
- Floating may include MS/Tele and possibly Westgate or AZ General Laveen Campus
- Floor-specific orientation: 2 shifts
- Common patient population includes post-op transplants, Whipples, spine, ortho joints, and trauma
Additional Requirements
- Must complete a dysrhythmia exam before acceptance
- Must complete a pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation
- Must complete SIMs lab requirements during orientation
- Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
- Men must be clean shaven for fit testing
- Travelers must have their own vehicle
- Cannot work another assignment or contract at the same time
- Must have been away from the referenced health system for 12 months as permanent staff to be eligible for travel assignment
- Submission must include unit size, hospital size, trauma level, and EMR experience
Notes
- Weekly orientations are held on Mondays except during holiday weeks
- This is a teaching hospital
- Parking is assigned, with shuttle transport to the facility; night shift parking is in a garage
