Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on Med/Surg Telemetry unit with potential to float to related units including Emergency Department.
• Rotating day/night shifts (7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am); shift rotation may be required to meet operational needs.
• Must work at least every other holiday.
• Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety testing; passing scores required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1.5 years of Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
• Current certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Orientation & Onboarding

• Completion of online training modules prior to start; must be done on a computer using Google Chrome.
• Modules include facility-specific training and must be completed fully (video and test).
• SafeMedicate and ECG competency exams administered during orientation.
• Physical exam, immunizations, and background checks must be current and verified before start.
• Fingerprinting must be completed both through agency and facility processes.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week.
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Shift rotation possible based on hospital needs.

Additional Notes

• Candidates with a break in employment longer than 6 months at this facility may need to retake orientation modules and competency exams.
• Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID while on assignment.
• All documentation must be consistent with legal name.
• Candidates must be prepared to comply with all facility-specific health and safety requirements.

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs who meet the licensing and certification requirements and are comfortable with rotating shifts in a fast-paced hospital environment.
