Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D) (Nights)

Location: Dubuque, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Information

Unit includes Maternity (16 beds), Nursery (12 beds), NICU (4 beds), C-section suite (1 bed), and Overflow rooms
Patient types: antepartum, mother-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, NICU
Delivery volume: 50-60 births per month
Level 2 maternal/neonatal center
Nurse-to-patient ratios: Labor 1:1, Postpartum 1:2, NICU 2:1
Medication administration experience required with glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin drips/titrations

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Iowa
Labor and Delivery experience of at least 2 years, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
STABLE certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Valid driver’s license
Travel experience within the last 15 months
Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Preferred Qualifications

Nursery and Mother-Baby experience
NICU experience
Postpartum experience
Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Requirements & Information

Prior travel experience within the last 15 months is required
Newborn Orientation (NBO) is 16 hours
Holiday work required for 1-2 of the 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
No local candidates within 90 miles eligible
Orientation dates available: August 10, 17, and 24
Employee separation policy restricts certain past employees from working travel contracts in this market
